April is "Add and Altrusan" Month

Carroll County Altrusa hosted it's April meeting on the 16th.  Members received an e-invite with the suggestion that they invite family, friends and acquaintances to join them at the meeting.  This was a successful event.  There were seven guests who joined members. The membership committee created a reward for both guests and members who brought guests.  Each guest had their name entered into a basket for a drawing for a $25 Gift Certificate to Hannafords Grocery Store.  In turn, each member who brought a guest was entered into a drawing for a $25 reduction in membership dues.  It was a win-win for everyone.

The Communications Committee was responsible for the dinner and used the left over sauce and meatballs from the Spaghetti Supper fund raiser.  Dessert and Salad were served as well.
Nancy also created a gift for both members and guests.  It was a package of seeds with a promise to help grow Altrusa membership as a new member and as a mentor to new members.

After the dinner, Pat led us through our meeting.  It was election night.  The new board will be installed at the May meeting.  The new board is Pat Kehoe, President; JoAnne Hastings, Vice President; Cindy Hyatt, Secretary; Judy Yeary, Treasurer; Lisa Maggilio, Board member. Members who will remain on the board are Pam Beck, immediate past president; and Shelly Freburg and Lisa Sordi, board members who will serve one more year.  The nomination committee did a great job asking members to run for office and members were great in responding in the positive.  This reflects the commitment and enthusiasm of the Carroll County Altrusa club members.

The months of April and May are very busy for Altrusa.

PHEW... there is a lot going on.  The good thing is that each member can decide where they can help out and we have enough members to make all of these events happen.

Carroll County Altrusa  certainly does partner service to others with fellowship.
