A Birthday Party Bash!

On Tuesday, April 11, 2017 Altrusa of Carroll County hosted a Birthday Party to celebrate the founding of the 3 New Hampshire Clubs of Laconia, Meredith and Carroll County as well as the founding of Altrusa on April 11, 1917.  We were so glad that 40 people could join us at the River's Edge Tavern in Ossipee, NH.   Our District Board members, who traveled quite a distance and were able to attend were:  Anne Rash, Governor-elect;  Susannah Leslie, Past Governor; Ann Marie Snyer, Past Governor and Past International Foundation President; Adrienne Stevens, Past Governor; Monica Bennett, Director.

Many thanks to our Hospitality Committee, chaired by Cindy Hyatt, and our hard-working members who did a wonderful job planning and organizing the dinner and evening.  Thanks also to Kathy Laracy and her crew who made all the decorations and to Gayle Kelley who purchased prizes and created the Fish Pond of Prizes.

The evening gave us a chance to have fun all while celebrating the 100 years of service projects Altrusans have accomplished.  The longest-running service project by Altrusans is the Day Nursery in Battle Creek, Michigan established in 1923 by the Altrusa Club of Battle Creek and to this day Altrusans from that Club volunteer at the Day Nursery and are members of the managing Board.
Happy Birthday Altrusa!
