January 2012 Meeting
Carroll County Altrusans met on Monday, January 9th at Runnells Hall in Chocorua. A delicious meal was prepared and served by the Community Service Committee. Comfort food was the special of the evening with two choices of shephards pie, salad and dessert. It was great to get back together after the Holiday season. President, Pam Beck opened the meeting with introduction of guests. Jen Kreiger from DCYF (Division of Children, Youth and Family Services) talked to the group about what is involved in becoming a Foster Parent. She thanked Altrusa for co-sponsoring the Foster Family Christmas party in December and for continuing to supply backpacks with school supplies to DCYF for Foster Children.
Plans are now underway for the 2nd annual Spaghetti Supper to be held at Runnells Hall on March 31st. More details will follow in future posts.
